NSW: Townsfolk to travel 30 mins for bread, milk
Residents of Silverdale and Warragamba in Sydney's west will now have to travel 30
minutes to buy bread and milk after the local shopping centre was ravaged by bushfires.
Raging wildfires consumed the Warragamba shopping centre which housed a supermarket
and chemist so residents will now have to travel half an hour to Penrith.
Silverdale resident SANDRA ROGER says they're very lucky, Warragamba which is just
down the road about two minutes away, they lost the shops, all the shops are gone.
She says they're not isolated but it's half an hour from Penrith so they rely on the
local shops for your bread and milk.
To add to their woes, Silverdale residents woke to no running water.
